Between Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2, Hideo Kojima and his team set about developing a mech based action game. This game was Zone of the Enders. When it was released, ZOE proved to be a popular title, though it was largely due to the fact it included an MGS2 demo although it managed to pull in a large fanbase by itself. Several years later, a sequel arrives on the scene taking everything that was good about the original, and greatly improving it while ironing out the flaws. The result was Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner (known as Anubis: Zone of the Enders in Japan). The 2nd Runner redefined "High Speed Robot Action".
