After proving it's worth with impressive sales figures, Metal Gear Solid turned Platinum shortly after the release of Metal Gear Solid: Special Missions. Looking to take advantage of this, Konami decided the best way to bring new people into the MGS experience was to release both games together in a double pack. For some reason though, 3 versions were released. This is the horizontal version, but there is also a vertical version and a "side-by-side" version. While the contents of the packs doesn't change between versions, the artwork on the packaging does. However, the horizontal and side-by-side versions are fairly similar in design.
