This slipcase was exclusive to HMV Stores when purchasing MGS4, however the signed versions were sold 10 days before release at the opening event of the Metal Gear Solid 4 World Tour. Those lucky enough to get in to the HMV Store on Oxford Street on June 2nd, 2008 were given the opportunity to place a pre-order for the game for a small deposit of £5. For placing the pre-order, 300 people were rewarded with an MGS4 slipcase which enabled them to meet Hideo Kojima, Yoji Shinkawa and Yumi Kikuchi who each hand signed the slipcases and shook hands with the fans.
