Announced at E3 2011 by Hideo Kojima and Mega64, the Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection contains 3 Metal Gear titles: Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. The former two titles were outsourced to Bluepoint Games who upscaled the PlayStation 2 classics to 720p and bumped the framerate up to 60 frames per second. Peace Walker HD was developed by Kojima Productions and upscaled to 1080p and designed to make use of both of the thumbsticks present for both PlayStation 3 and XBOX 360 that are absent from the PlayStation Portable. MGS2 maintains most of the features from Substance, including VR and Alternative Missions, Casting Theater and Boss Survival, while MGS3 keeps features from Subsistence, including the free 3rd person camera as well as Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake.
